This weekend, a historic moment happened as 20th anniversary of the Million Man March happened on October 10th, 2015. I'm completely obsessed with this because with the current events the African American community has been experiencing in the media and justice system regarding the handling of black lives has been atrocious. A rising number of disparities and social consciousness has been recognized through social media and has begun a new revolution in the media, so holding this event was right on time.

Unless you've been living under a rock the saying "Black Lives Matter" has been omnipresent throughout the past year. In an effort to ingrain a stream of social awakening to a new generation of young African Americans this has been a call to action. Seeing the overwhelming number of concerned and conscious young black millennials show up for the cause gave me hope that the message of black importance is not falling on deaf ears. We in fact do matter.
