How did you determine your passion?
I believe that I have always followed my dreams, but just like everyone, doubt and fear does set in. I was taught though, never to give up on what is truly meant for you. I feel like through the years, I lost my passion and drive to do what I wanted, because of money. Running a business, going to school, and working a full-time job is a lot. I got discouraged because I couldn't see my magazine making any money. After going through that stage, I realized that you can't rush time or what God has ordained for you. Now that I am in a new space in life, I am going back doing what I love best that is modeling and running a online blog (also know as the magazine).
What challenges have you had to overcome?
Last year, in 2015 I decide to study for my master degree, and I also was trying to put out another issue of the magazine by Summer 2015. Juggling both an online master degree program and trying to get things together for the magazine became very overwhelming. On top of that, I was working full time and moving. I had no time to really focus on my business. Later that year I graduated with my masters degree. But at the same time, I was losing one of my most important staff members that was an asset to the magazine. I have to say this took a lot out of me personally. Overall, I can say it worked out because it allowed me to start re-vamping my business and have totally creative control over my magazine. I am proud of myself for not cracking under pressure, but taking that challenge and using it to do what I love and that is helping others. Now that I am revamping my brand and myself, I can't wait for 2016 to reveal what it has in-store for me!
How do you stay focused?
I will be first person to tell you that I am not level headed at all. I work well under pressure. I have so many different projects that I am currently working on, sometimes I am just all over the place. I will say I stay focus by thinking how the outcome of my projects or business will be. I love to see the finish products of things I become so proud and happy in knowing I did that! I sometimes just sit back with my Mac and listen to music and just go to work that helps me stay focus!
What advice would you give to someone who might be afraid to follow their dreams?
It does not hurt to trust and step out on faith. You never know where it will take you. Everyone has a trial and error period within their dreams and business. You will never get better or learn until you step out and try. So if you want to be a designer, model, singer, actor, entrepreneur JUST DO IT! Never be afraid of starting over. Sometimes that is just what you need to succeed.
