How did you determine your passion?
My passion is in the creative arts and helping people. I have been in theater arts and dancing since the age of 6 years old. Through my business ventures I am able to utilize creativity to build legendary brands, aid others in pushing their social missions forward, and providing economic opportunities for my community. It was through theater arts as a child that I realized my passion. It was not until mid-way through college as a student at Spelman College in Atlanta, GA, that I discovered how I can create the lifestyle I desire for myself by merging the two concepts. After serving in numerous leadership positions during college at other marketing & communications companies, I realized my strong skill set and I saw an opportunity for me to become an entrepreneur.
What challenges have you had to overcome?
To pursue my dreams, I’ve overcome various forms of rejections and closed doors. But, I have always remained resilient. Although I am still young, 27 years old, I had to learn at a younger age how to deal with “no” and being overlooked, rejected, and casted out. I did not realize until several years ago that rejection is apart of the process to reaching your full purpose and how learning to deal with these minor setbacks ultimately fulfills your destiny.
How do you stay focused?
To remain focused on my passion and goals, I have to stand strong and be resilient. I always keep the big picture goal in mind, and remind myself that things take time to grow, develop, and be. By keeping my vision in full view, it encourages me to endure the process and all of the prerequisites necessary on the path to greatness. I live my life on purpose and allow God to orchestra my life for his glory because that brings me peace. I dwell in positive places with great energy because that encourages growth. I am focused on continued growth, so I always find resources, conferences, seminars, events etc. that will assist me in professional development to further hone my skills. I am also an avid reader and I try to read, research, and reflect daily. Remaining positive, hard working, and faithful keeps me focused.
