D.M. Lattisaw – List Of Dreamers
D.M. Lattisaw is an American an author who released my first fictional novel "Priceless" in 2013. Priceless is an urban fictional novel that was inspired by true events in the Washington, DC area. He is scheduled to release two books in 2016: Lessons From A Sinner (a motivational/self-help book), and Priceless II, Vengeance Is Mine (sequel to Priceless I).
How did you determine your passion?
Whatever I put my mind to do, I do. I hate words like "can't" and "no." I try to do everything in my power to accomplish whatever it is I want to accomplish, when I find my self told those words. I believe those words create fear because when we are told no or we can't do something, and then we're defiant because we go ahead and attempt to follow our dreams and do those things, we usually are fearful because we feel something negative will happen because we were told not to do it from people that we respect or from people that want to hinder our successes.
What challenges have you had to overcome?
I overcame wanting to be perceived a certain way by people. I had to create my own image. I can't live anyone else's life but mine. I think the minute I stopped caring about fitting in a box created by others concerning my life, which they will never live, I believe I found myself. I am comfortable with all of me, which includes my past and present. I am a 30 year old man that's blessed to know who he is.
How do you stay focused?
I pray. I am a believer in God, and though its proven that most intelligent people have doubts that a super natural being has dominion over every person, I have no doubt in my belief in God. I know that God is real because I can feel His presence and He's answered my prayers. Some people may ask "how do you know it's a He, it could be a She?" and that really doesn't matter to me. Whether it's a He or a She I know God is real and because of the holy spirit within me, I am able to maintain my composure when everything around me seems to go wrong.
What is your advice to people who have a dream or goal , but are afraid to step out and try?
My advice would be to stick to what you believe because as long as what you're doing is positive, you will achieve it. Put God first, pray, an believe your prayers will be answered.
