How Did You Determine Your Passion?

I am a firm believer that each persons senses are attached to feelings. There is a distinct feeling inside me that lets me know I’m passionate about something. The feeling of fulfillment is present when I’m in the realm of passion about my craft(s). I often tell other inspiring entrepreneurs that passion is like a tingling, burning, nervous feeling in the pit of your stomach that you just cant shake. There is an adrenaline rush that overtakes you in the height of doing what you love. Once you find what you are passionate about, your way of thinking and how you look at life instantly changes. What you do each day is no longer work, but it's your hobby, and there is no better feeling!

What Challenges Have You Had To Overcome?

In 1999, I was introduced to entrepreneurship by my mother. She single handedly start a multi-million dollar Psych Rehab Firm out of our small town house. I watched her work a full-time 9-5 and come home just to build her empire, sometimes 2-3am and had to be up by 5am to start her day all over again. Watching her go through her journey, I knew that life was for me. When she lost her company she was devastated, but she always said she wouldn’t trade it for anything.

Due to being the bread winner in my household I have always struggled with the fear of quitting my job and jumping full fledge in my business. I had a track record of being the best regional property manager ever, maxing out on bonuses, being promoted and serving on training boards developing other managers however I would always find my self being terminated from my job; some I look back on and knew I played a part with my entrepreneur behaviors on somebody else’s job and others with no good reason.o list regarding business “Work Prep I call it”. Sunday night I sit at my desk and list all task I have to complete for the week. After I have my list completed I prioritize them on my outlook calendar. This list may change from day to day however I make sure all get completed. There is nothing worse then shuffling papers and spinning wheels all day. You either fail to plan or plan to fail, I make sure I plan to succeed!

On October 3, 2017,  I was terminated from my job with no cause and no explanation.  This took me by total surprise. With no money saved due to me trying to fund my businesses with any extra money I had after running my household I was devastated. At that moment I knew I couldn’t give anyone the ability to determine my future or make me feel the way I felt on that day. On the morning of October 4, 2017 with $357.32 in my bank account and every bill due, I became a full time entrepreneur.  October – December 2017 had to be the most challenging time of my life and marriage. We were evicted and had no where to go but my mother's house in another state, which meant up rooting my family and switching the kids school.

The day before the eviction took place I packed up my house and sat on my deck and sobbed like a baby feeling like I failed myself and my family. I began to pray and ask God how could he allow this to happen and not provide a way of escape. At that moment he spoke to me and said, “Oh but I have”! “I’m sending you to a place I can cover you”. “What you are  about to endure, you will need to be covered while I work on your behalf”. I dried my tears and relocated my family to Delaware. I was at my mother’s house for two weeks where she prayed and cared for me. Once I got my marching orders, we relocated to Atlanta and i has been up ever since. So with all that being said, trusting myself and God has been my biggest challenge and I’m so happy I didn’t die in my valley!

How Do You Stay Focused?

Every aspect of my business gets me excited! Since going through my weight loss journey I have adopted new habits to keep me focused and positive. I’ve incorporated my ability to meal prep with my everyday to d

How Did You Determine Your Passion?

I was able to discover my true passions once I was able to answer these three questions: Who am I, What made me great, and what I would like to achieve now?

What Challenges Have You Had To Overcome?

When I was in the fourth grade, I was a special needs student who could barely write a complete sentence. I learned not to allow others to define who I am or how far I can go.

How Do You Stay Focused?

I remind myself daily, that I don't have to be perfect in order to achieve great things. I am great each day that I decide to be.

How Did You Determine Your Passion?

I have always had a passion for beauty. I have always loved the art of makeup and the way in transforms. My mother, who is a licensed cosmetologist, always told me to follow my dream no matter what it was that I wanted to do. Because I wanted to be like her, I tried doing hair. I loved it but I was not passionate about it. I knew that I wanted to still be in the beauty industry. I then stepped out and did my first wedding in 2013, and I have been in love ever since.

What Challenges Have You Had To Overcome?

I had to overcome many challenges. Wanting to give up because of the lack of support from those I thought would have supported me, Thinking that I wasn't good enough because I tried to compare myself to others. as well as being scared to JUMP.

How Do You Stay Focused?

I stay focused and productive on my dream by always thinking of my family and our future. I love the thought of being home when my son gets home from school and my husband gets home from work. I also love linking up with like minded business oriented people. I am also enhancing my craft by learning new techniques daily.

How Did You Determine Your Passion?

I heard someone say , "Whatever you think about as soon as you get up in the morning, that's what you should be doing." For as long as I can remember, I've had a love for fashion. But not just the clothes, I've always been fascinated with fabrics and how different textiles work with the body.

What Challenges Have You Had To Overcome?

The biggest challenges that I had to overcome was getting over the need to prove to others that I could be successful at running a lucrative clothing company. Lets face it, everyone has a clothing line or is a designer, but few are selling their garments. It's mainly more of a hobby for most. I was determine to turn my passion into my paycheck and thats just what I did!

How Do You Stay Focused?

It's not hard to stay focused when you're an entrepreneur.  There are no days off.  I'm involved in every aspect of my business. Between teaching and running my business, I work 12 hrs a day 6 days a week. Im always in work mode ..ALWAYS!

How Did You Determine Your Passion?

My passion was determined by what I was instinctively drawn too, and what I also did well naturally which was photography and artistic things.

What Challenges Have You Had To Overcome?

I overcame the challenges of fitting in and doing what others thought was best for me--which is one of the biggest challenges for the everyday person. I also overcame the challenge of creating things that are popular to the culture for the gaining of followers and attention, to creating a body of work that represents who I am at the core that will be respected over time. .

How Do You Stay Focused?

I remain focused by keeping the main thing the main thing and not allowing things and habits from people that don’t look like my end results influence and take me off my course.

Ryan Jor El – 2017 List Of Dreamers

Ryan Jor El – 2017 List Of Dreamers

Ryan Jor El, the Fashion Connoisseur, is a Speaker, Author, Host and Wardrobe Consultant

How did you determine what you were passionate about?

I blame my mother, lol. But seriously, as kids, my younger brother and I were made to understand the difference between school clothes and play clothes. As I got older and began to have an opinion about what I wore, I always remember wanting to be dressed up rather than casual. My junior year in high school was when I came into my own, the passion kicked in and I discovered I had a special knack for putting clothing together. I won Best Dressed my senior year and after my first year of college, began working for a small men's boutique in Charlotte, NC, which further engrained fashion and style into my daily life.

During my college years, my classmates and frat brothers started asking me for fashion advice and eventually that advice coupled with multiple shopping trips, led to the wardrobe consulting and personal shopping career.

After fifteen years in the fashion industry, I was blessed to release my first book, "Fashion & Fatherhood," and truly believe I didn't choose this life, it chose me.

I'm grateful for all I've been able to accomplish and believe God uses my fashion sense to draw people in for a greater purpose. My first tag line was, "We don't just create ensembles, We change mentalities." I truly believe when you look good you feel good. That's what keeps the passion going, the impact I'm able to make inwardly on individuals by showing them the importance of their attire. There's no better feeling than seeing that light bulb go off in someone's head and knowing in that moment, you've changed their life for the better.

What challenges have you overcome to pursue your dreams?

My biggest challenge was getting my mother to see the vision on this road less traveled. Most people that are habitual workers, have a hard time wrapping their mind around the mind of a dreamer. Entrepreneurship is risky, can be scary, and requires diligence, patience, and hard work of which many aren't willing to make the sacrifice to achieve. It's much easier to find a job, work 40 hours, and go through life wondering what if. It's much more difficult to know that "what if" could be a reality and should be!

It's not always a comfortable place to be, but I feel like I'm closer now than ever and know there's more to life than punching a clock!

How do you stay focused and productive in your area of passion?

Staying focused in the fashion industry can be challenging due to its ever evolving nature. However, I force myself to stay engaged by studying, honing my craft, and maintaining a social media presence. Keeping the end goal in mind is also crucial knowing that all of your efforts will pay off.

As a father of an adorable two year old daughter, I keep my creative juices flowing by dressing her daily and posting on social media her #DaycareDossier, an extension of my #DossieroftheDay.

As far as productivity is concerned, the old adage, if a man don't work, he don't eat, will keep you marketing and promoting your services to any and everybody you know.

Minister Edward "Busta" Fields is the visionary behind  #BringingSuitsBack. The movement's  focus isn't fashion, but to shine a positive light on African American men!

How Did You Determine Your Passion?

As a child I knew I wanted to help unite people, and bring about change. So I used my gift of music as a platform to perform such a task. My ONLY GOAL is to change the world and spread the message of Jesus Christ.

What Challenges Have You Faced In Pursuing Your Passion?

I faced many obstacles in my journey. But once I was delivered from people's opinions, everything became a lot easier. I learned that in this walk you can't focus yourself on naysayers. God put you in this position for a reason, so go forth and do the work.

How Do You Overcome Your Challenges?

I stay focus by not surrounding myself with people who have the "Tea", but I enclose myself with people who have the Juice. #GameChangers

Her company's goal is is to help her clients  build a business that grows and glorifies God. (fixyourcrown.com and millionairelistbuilders.com)

How did you determine what you were passionate about?

I kind of fell into this business. I’ve worked in government and politics, web design and even for some non-profits. God will often give you clues to what you’re supposed to do, so it’s your job to really pay attention to what you like to do and what you do well and understanding business is one of those things. I love it because I get to be creative and none of my days are exactly the same. But I’m passionate about helping people build profitable businesses and financial stability for their families, and every job I’ve ever held led me to this place.

What challenges have you overcome to pursue your dreams?

WOW. Tons lol. My family wasn’t the most stable growing up, so of course that comes with its own set of insecurities. I think the biggest challenge I face even today is being a mom and an entrepreneur. My oldest son is 10, so navigating entrepreneurship and still being the kind of mom I wanted to be has always been tough. I went through this period of time when I was really wondering if I made the right decision because entrepreneurship requires some major sacrifices sometimes. But I think every day will present its own set of challenges. So I’ve learned to stop seeing obstacles as obstacles and start seeing opportunities to thrive. The great thing is every single challenge I’ve ever faced I’ve lived through, right? If you can remind yourself of that, you can really overcome anything

How do you stay focused and productive in your area of passion?

Staying focused is easy when you have a "why" and when you understand who you were created to be, and that why has to be bigger than you. So I just remind myself that it’s always bigger than me. I have siblings, I have children, and groups of people in my community that I want to help. On the days that I want to give up I have to remind myself about THEIR needs. And then from a practical perspective, keeping lists of goals, positive quotes and affirmations, and my vision board in front of me constantly help me to stay focused on a day to day basis.

How did you determine what you were passionate about?

I discovered a passion for writing at a very young age. I wrote my first series of short stories in the third grade. I believe that my passion is still growing and evolving every day. I enjoy getting to know different people from all walks of life and telling their stories. I also have a passion for encouraging others with my own story which consist of overcoming a lot of battles at a very young age. I enjoy doing what I love, but I believe it’s bigger than me. I want to be an example for children that may have a similar story to mine. I think that’s where my passion lies.

What challenges have you overcome to pursue your dreams?

So far I’ve had to overcome a lot of challenges in my career. One of my biggest challenges has been juggling my career in corporate america and being a freelance journalist all at once. I started working a month after graduating from college. While growing in my career, I became a freelance journalist. There were times when I went days without sleeping because I was working on articles all night; after leaving my 8-5. I missed a lot of family functions & outings with friends in order to meet deadlines. Now that I am a wife, I’ve had to make sure I carve out time for my family as well as myself.

How do you stay focused and productive in your area of passion?

I stay focus by knowing that I have more goals to accomplish. I feel as though I am just getting started. One of my biggest driving forces  is when I read about stereotypes that classify females like me by what we look like or where we came from. You can say, I like challenging what statistics say I should or should not be. I believe being successful is a choice and that’s what keeps me focus.

How did you determine what you were passionate about?

I've been cutting hair since I was 12 years old. People were so impressed by my ability to cut my own hair that they started asking me to cut their hair too.

What challenges have you overcome to pursue your dreams?

When I wanted to open my first shop, I got denied by the bank. One of my clients came in for a cut one day and asked me how much I needed to make it happen. He and his business partner turned out to be Godsent angels and blessed me with the financial help that allowed me to open my first shop in 2011. I still face challenges every day, but I believe that anything is possible if you are willing to be patient and work hard to see it happen.

How do you stay focused and productive in your area of passion?

My faith in God helps me to stay focused. Plus, I'm always finding ways to educate myself and learn new things in order to grow my business. I also try to find ways to give back to other barbers. It motivates me when others are inspired by what I do.
